Pneumatic conveying equipment serving the following industries:
The automation of plastics processes such as plastics extrusion, compounding and resin manufacturing can be done with pneumatic conveying and related bulk material handling equipment. K-Tron pneumatic conveying equipment is specifically engineered for systems in the plastics industry such as scaling, in-plant pressure conveying, in-plant vacuum conveying, vacuum sequencing and rail unload.
The production of plastics consists of many important process steps, which are needed to generate a homogeneous application-specific plastic compound from a number of different raw materials. From railcars to feeders, K-Tron systems provide pressure and vacuum conveying systems to solve your material handling needs in plastics compounding and composites production.
Chemical and Mineral
K-Tron designs and manufactures both small and large equipment for dry bulk material handling systems for many of the world's leading chemical and mineral processors for systems conveying materials such as calcium carbonate, copper-hydroxide, talc, bentonite clay, kaolin clay, soda ash, limestone, sodium-benzoate, burnt wood chips, clay/carbon blend, gypsum, vanadium-pentoxide, dolocron, dicalcium-phosphate, silica, TiO2, lead oxide, ammonia- sulfate and boric acid.
Food & Pet Food
Within the food industry, K-Tron has served numerous applications including tortillas, bread and cake mixes, pasta, rice, snack food, cereal, candy, cookies and crackers, ice cream, pet food and more.
Pharmaceutical / Nutraceutical
K-Tron offers sanitary pneumatic conveying equipment for several pharmaceutical applications when conveying delicate materials such as tablet granulations, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), excipients, and even finished capsules and tablets.
Pneumatic Components for Vacuum and Pressure Conveying Applications
K-Tron offers conveying line accessories, components and parts for pneumatic conveying systems (vacuum and pressure), to include weighing and batching, bulk unloading and storage, in-plant transfer, and loss-in-weight feeder refill.
Where to Learn More about K-Tron's a wide range of bulk material handling components
Aerolock™ Rotary Valves
K-Tron Aerolock™ rotary valves are backed by more than 50 years of experience-tested design and applications. We are continually upgrading our line, which currently includes more than 150 models and sizes of rotary valves.
K-Tron diverter valves direct material from one source to multiple destinations. The cylindrical, cast housing provides a smooth, low resistance path for the conveying air and material.
Vacuum Sequencing Receivers
K-Tron vacuum receivers handle powder, pellet, regrind or granular materials in a self-contained or central vacuum conveying system.
K-Tron Series 2400 self-contained loaders are designed for applications such as railcar unloading, silo to daybin transfer, in-plant transfer or feeder refill. Self-contained loaders feature an integrated vacuum pump.
Rail Car Load & Unload Components
K-Tron provides complete system solutions for unloading bulk solids from railcars.
Blower packages are used for creating vacuum and/or pressure in conveying systems. Selecting the right blower that operates at the correct speed is critical to the success of any pneumatic conveying system. At K-Tron, we supply a wide range of quality blower packages for conveying pellets, powders, and granular materials.
K-Tron automated controls are designed in-house with either Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC, however we are also experienced with General Electric, Modicon and Automation Direct. We offer many communication options such as Device Net, Ethernet, Data Highway and more…
Bin and Hopper Fabrication
K-Tron offers several bin and hopper solutions from bag dump stations with integral dust control to simple bag dump hoppers where no filtration is required.
The butterfly gate controls gravity flow discharge from storage bins or hoppers.
The filter receiver provides automatic material-from-air separation. Efficient performance of the filter receiver is achieved through the proper selection of filter media and the correct air-to-cloth ratio.
In Line Filters
Inline filters provide additional blower protection from material fines that may carry over to the blower's inlet.
With material suitable for cyclonic separation, cyclones prove to be effective as filterless pneumatic receivers. Cyclones have no moving parts, no bags to clean and and plant air and electricity are not needed for operation.
Mounted on top of a storage tank, a bin vent filters the exhaust air and allows the tank to breathe.
Dry Bulk Storage Tanks
Dry bulk storage tanks serve many industries. These tanks can store such materials as cement, wood chips, grain, sulfur, flower, sugar and more.
K-Tron offers a variety of level indicators and other inventory control mechanisms for use in storage tanks, receivers, and surge bins.
Dryers and Drying Hoppers
Frequently vacuum transport systems include dryers to reduce moisture content or prevent moisture contamination of a dry bulk material.
Fluidization of dry, finely ground, aeratable bulk materials such as flour, starch, cement and hydrated lime is promoted by introducing low pressure air into the stored material.
Tubing, Adapters, Misc.Tubing, Misc.
K-Tron offers a variety of pneumatic conveying line accessories such as conveying line, conveying hose, compression couplings and quick couplings.
